Our Favorite Moments of 2019
2019 has had some major highs and some major lows. We’ve traveled the world and visited some of our new favorite places. Here are some of our favorite moments on 2019.
Shannon
My LP highlight of 2019 was going to Belize on a private yacht charter with my family and Kat! It was the most amazing time … North America was under a polar vortex, and we were wading in the blue Caribbean Sea with nothing on our minds but where the next lobster or daiquiri was coming from.
We spent one week onboard with an Italian family (that became our family by the end of the week). They showed us the best spots in nature and cooked amazing meals for us throughout the trip. They even took up spearfishing to catch dinner. We read books, took naps, ate quite well, went diving & snorkeling, drank and drank some more, and generally had the time of our lives.

My 2019 year-in-review with LP is small but powerful. Being part of the Limitless Planet team for only two of the 12 months in 2019, my most memorable moment and milestone happened on Monday October 14th. I had just been to check out the office and Covo space downtown. I took a walk with Shannon to the Hotel Saint Louis for a quick lunch. We were toasting a glass of wine at the hotel bar when I made the emotional phone call to my former company to decline a lucrative job offer in Chicago.
I had been battling furiously with the inner voices for sometime, questioning my purpose and contemplating the risks involved with leaving a corporate career of 17 years, coupled with the sheer excitement of starting something brand new. And in true Shannon style, she turns to me and asks, "So it's official then, dude?" We both laughed and I cried, and that's how I came to be the fourth addition to the LP team. Here's to many more memorable moments in the years to come!

Mackenzie
There are so many memories from this past year that I loved—London for my birthday, Scotland in the summer, music festivals in other countries, Paris in September. I hit all of my favorite places over and over again this past year and enjoyed every single moment of it. However, I think my favorite moment was getting to show a group of women (who have never been to Paris before) the best parts of it. The food. The culture. The speakeasy in the basement of a funky Italian restaurant. The architecture. Being able to see one of my favorite cities from the eyes of other people is the best. Getting other people excited about a new place and showing them around is one of my favorite things in the world and the fact that this is my job? Unreal.

My favorite moment of LP this year was going to Portugal and Scotland over the summer. I took a group on a food tour around Lisbon and Porto—we ate some of the best food and drank some of the best wine I will ever have in my lifetime. Afterwards, I joined my family and Mackenzie in Scotland! My dad has always wanted to go to Scotland ever since Ancestry.com told him exactly where he’s from, so he took our whole family. Mackenzie has been there multiple times before and happily showed us around and guided us through Glasgow and Edinburgh—even taking my nieces on a much-loved Harry Potter tour throughout Edinburgh.
