Why Traveling is Good for You

Ever had someone question why you travel so much? Us too. Whenever we’re asked why we love to travel, we always say one of two things: 1. Because we love it and 2. Because it’s good for you. Next time someone asks you why you like to travel, we have even more answers to the question.

1. Traveling Improves Your Health
No really, it’s true. Studies have proven that traveling lowers your stress, thus reducing your chances of developing a heart disease. For others, wandering around a new country can even help their mental health. Being in a new country is liberating and has major health benefits both physically and psychologically.

2. Disconnects Your From Your Routine
Traveling breaks up the monotony of every day life. If you’re ever feeling the need to break out of your routine, or generally feel burnt out from work—travel! We get so caught up in the every day part of our lives that to recharge and feel reenergized, you need to get out of your routine.

3. Makes You Smarter
According to the Huffington Post, when you pick up new words in different languages when you travel you will actually see improvements in your brain capacities. Also, when you travel to a country where you don’t know the language, it challenges you to think differently and approach situations you wouldn’t somewhere else.

4. Improves Your Understanding of Other Cultures
This might be an obvious one, but traveling to other places improves your understanding of other cultures. Expand your thinking and explore other places outside of your comfort zone. It’ll give you a new approach and appreciation on life and your own culture back home.

5. Create Lifetime Memories
You’ll create memories you won’t ever stop thinking about for the rest of your life. When you’re old, gray, and telling stories of your youth from your rocker, you’ll be able to tell people all about the life you led and the places you went. Live a life without regrets and don’t ever think ‘what if I had seen this.’ Book the ticket. Adventure is out there. Create your memories.
