How I caught the travel bug | Kathryn
I caught the travel bug in high school. I was in the Spanish class and found out the German class was I was in high school when I caught the travel bug. I was in the Spanish class and found out the German class was going to Germany. I didn’t think it was fair that the Spanish class didn’t have a trip offered to us, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.
Because there were very few kids that signed up for German, I convinced the teacher that I should go and be an ambassador for the Spanish class. I had to do a report and tell the students all about Germany and see if any kids wanted to sign up for German the following year. And guess what? I LOVED Germany! Plus, I’m a HUGE fan of musicals so when I found out they were going on the Sound of Music tour, I had to go! After falling in love with Germany, I figured out all the clubs my high school had trips associated with them.
Next thing you know: I am in Show Choir going to Bahamas. Student Council sent me to Stanford University and all over the United States to be a Missouri delegate. I fell in love with travel and different ways to get involved to see the world. I really felt that those experiences were great at a young age because I really grew as a person and made me ready for the journey called life!
